
Job Ready Program
The Job Ready Program (JRP) is an employment-based skills assessment program tailored specifically for international students who have graduated with Australian qualifications. The program allows graduates to develop and demonstrate their skills in an Australian workplace, ultimately enhancing their employability in their chosen occupation.
Purpose and Eligibility
- Skill Development: It offers international graduates the chance to enhance their skills through hands-on experience in an Australian workplace, bridging the gap between education and professional practice.
- Skills Verification: The program assesses and verifies the practical abilities of graduates, ensuring they meet Australian industry standards.
- International Graduates: Must have completed an Australian qualification in a relevant field.
- Work Experience: Graduates need to engage in paid employment in their nominated occupation as part of the assessment process.
- Skilled Visa Application: Successful completion of the JRP provides a valid skills assessment outcome, which is required for applying for skilled migration visas.
To be eligible, candidates must
- Completed Qualification: Have completed an Australian qualification that is relevant to their nominated occupation.
- Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA): Successfully obtain a Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA) for their nominated occupation as the initial step in the JRP process.

Provisional Skills Assessment (PSA)
This initial step verifies the authenticity of the graduate's qualification and employment history in their nominated occupation. -
Job Ready Employment (JRE)
Participants engage in paid employment within an Australian workplace, gaining practical experience that is directly related to their occupation. This phase typically involves at least 12 months of full-time work (or part-time equivalent) to develop and demonstrate relevant skills -
Job Ready Workplace Assessment (JRWA)
After completing a minimum of 863 hours of employment, participants undergo a workplace assessment to confirm they are performing the duties of their nominated occupation to the required standards. -
Job Ready Final Assessment (JRFA)
In the final step, participants must provide evidence of at least 1,725 hours of paid employment over 12 calendar months. A successful final assessment completes the program and grants a positive skills assessment outcome, essential for skilled migration applications.

Program Duration and Importance
- Participants have up to 3 years from their Job Ready Employment (JRE) Start Date to complete the entire program. If not completed within this timeframe, the application will be finalized with an unsuccessful outcome.
